We are looking for an experienced Surfacing Supervisor to lead and manage our surfacing crew based in Whanganui. In this role, you'll be responsible for planning, organising, directing and controlling surfacing and sealing operations to deliver safe, high-quality, and cost-effective outcomes for our clients. You'll play a key role in supporting and developing your crew, maintaining a strong Zero Harm culture, and ensuring all productivity, financial, quality, and safety targets are achieved.

This is a hands on leadership opportunity suited to someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, has a strong technical background in surfacing, and enjoys mentoring and developing teams.

Manage and supervise the Whanganui surfacing and sealing crew to deliver works safely, efficiently, and to specification. Supervise and support crews on site, including providing hands-on guidance and training where required. Coordinate subcontractors to ensure their work aligns with project objectives. Manage site costs, equipment, plant, and materials to minimise wastage and downtime. Liaise with clients, residents, and stakeholders to ensure clear communication and positive relationships. Monitor compliance with all Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality (HSEQ) requirements, promoting a culture of Zero Harm.

To be successful in this role, you will bring: Proven experience supervising surfacing or sealing crews within roading operations. Strong knowledge of surfacing specifications, procedures, and quality standards. Strong planning, organisational, and problem-solving skills. The ability to make sound decisions and provide clear direction under pressure. A proactive and solutions-focused mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
