●        Location: AUCKLAND

●        Job type: Full-time Permanent

●        Number of positions for this job: up to 3

●        Pay rate: from $28-$35 per hour

●        Days required: 5-6 days/week

●        Hours per week: min 30, max 60 hours per week

Responsibilities and Accountabilities

●  Install electrical wiring, conduit, trunking and cable containment for security and alarm systems in residential and commercial buildings.

 ● Pull, dress, terminate and test cables, including low-voltage, data, coaxial and power cables, in accordance with drawings and site requirements.

● Mount and connect cameras, sensors, detectors, keypads and other security devices to installed cabling.

●  Configure, test and commission security and alarm systems to ensure correct operation.

 ●  Read and interpret site plans, wiring diagrams and electrical drawings.

●  Diagnose faults and carry out repairs and preventative maintenance on installed systems and cabling.

●  Coordinate with project managers, electricians, builders and clients to complete projects to standard and on time.

●  Comply with New Zealand electrical safety regulations, building codes and workplace health and safety requirements at all times.

●  Maintain accurate records of installation and cabling works.

Requirements

 Trade qualification in electrical engineering (NZQA recognised) or equivalent practical experience; registered or able to work under an electrical practising licence.

Minimum 2 years of practical experience in electrical wiring, cable installation or related electrical trade work.

 Sound knowledge of cable types, termination techniques and low-voltage wiring standards. 

 Ability to work from drawings and follow specifications accurately. 

 Good fault-finding and problem-solving skills. 

 Strong awareness of workplace health and safety.

Security or alarm system experience is advantageous but not essential  full product training will be provided. 

Good communication skills and ability to work in a team.
