About Us
Yamuna Enterprise Limited operates a well-established gift and variety store in the Canterbury region, offering a wide range of affordable everyday products.

Our product range includes arts and crafts, toys, gifts, cosmetics, stationery, party supplies, travel essentials, hardware, kitchenware, plasticware, gardening products, tools, and other popular household items.

In addition to our retail operations, the store also operates as an NZ PostShop, providing a range of postal and related services to customers.

To support our continued growth, we are seeking a motivated and experienced Store Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our store.

The Role
This is a full-time, permanent position requiring flexibility to work across a 7-day roster. The Store Manager will be responsible for:

  • Manage and supervise the store’s NZ PostShop operations and postal services, ensuring services are delivered accurately and efficiently
  • Oversee day-to-day store operations to ensure efficiency and compliance
  • Determine stock and customer service standards
  • Plan and implement purchasing, marketing, and promotional strategies
  • Manage inventory, merchandising, and stock control processes
  • Monitor financial performance, prepare budgets, and implement cost controls
  • Recruit, train, roster, and supervise staff to deliver excellent customer service
  • Maintain accurate staff and attendance records
  • Ensure compliance with employment, health & safety, and company policies
  • Monitor competitor activity and market trends to enhance store performance
  • Build strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and local community stakeholders

Skills & Experience

  • A Level 5 diploma or higher in a relevant field, or at least two years of relevant work experience
  • Strong knowledge of retail operations, inventory control, and budgeting is preferred.
  • Excellent customer service and communication abilities is preferred.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, public holidays, and varied shifts
  • Willingness to undergo pre-employment drug and alcohol screening
