Trafford Supermarket Limited trading as Pak'nSave is seeking a permanent Checkout Manager to join their team in Kilbirnie.
The primary role of the Checkout Manager is to organise, control and lead the store's retail operations, including checkout, customer service and café functions. The Checkout Manager is accountable for 55 staff in total,
The key job duties include but are not limited to the following:
- Organise and control the day-to-day retail operations including checkout, customer service desk and café operations, allocating staff, equipment and other resources to meet trading requirements and agreed service standards.
- Set, monitor and continuously improve front-end service standards, including queue management, checkout throughput, customer service, café service, returns and overall presentation.
- Accountability for departmental performance and outcomes.
- Manage front-end security, loss prevention, returns and credits, till set-up, floats, signage and equipment to minimise loss, disruption and customer impact.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to resolve operational, stock, pricing and service issues and to deliver store-wide initiatives.
- Directly manage a workforce of 55 staff in total, comprising an Assistant Checkout Manager and 54 checkout and café team members.
- Control recruitment and selection for the department, including interviewing, hiring within delegated authority, induction and placement of new employees.
- Prepare and manage staff rosters to maintain appropriate coverage across trading hours while meeting wage percentage and labour budget targets.
- Manage the checkout and café wage and operating budgets within delegated authority, monitor actual expenditure against budget and take corrective action where required
- Manage the café as an integrated retail operation, including staffing, service standards, product availability, food safety, stock control, ordering, wastage and presentation.
- Determine the café product mix, stock levels and replenishment requirements within delegated authority, taking account of customer demand, sales performance, margins, seasonal requirements and wastage.
This role is for 45 hours per week. The successful applicant must be available on at least one weekend day and public holidays.
Remuneration ranges from $83,000 - $90,000 per annum. To be successful in this role, you must have:
· Three-years relevant supervisory or managerial experience
· Your LCQ and a current Manager’s Certificate (Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012)
