Are you an experienced Carpenter looking to join a great team with steady, long-term work?
Join The Barracks Ltd, a nationwide construction company delivering a strong pipeline of residential, commercial and civil construction projects. We are seeking reliable, motivated carpentrs who will work in Auckland, but may from time to time be required to relocate to other regions for work, including Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Canterbury and Otago.
Key tasks and duties
- Read and interpret plans, drawings and specifications to determine job requirements.
- Measure from reference points and mark guidelines to set out carpentry work using appropriate measuring and levelling tools.
- Measure, cut and prepare timber and other materials using hand and power tools.
- Construct, install, repair and maintain timber structures and building components.
- Install components using appropriate fixings and ensure structures are securely fixed, level, plumb and straight.
- Carry out carpentry and construction work in accordance with industry standards, project specifications and quality requirements.
- Safely operate and maintain tools, plant and equipment required for carpentry work.
- Check that required materials, tools and equipment are available and report any shortages or issues to Site Management.
- Work with Site Management and other trades to complete allocated work within required timeframes.
- Follow all workplace health and safety procedures, identify and report hazards, incidents and near misses, and maintain a safe work environment.
- Assist other team members and trades with construction-related duties within the employee's skills and competencies as reasonably required.
What We Offer
- Hourly rates of $25 – $35 per hour, based on skills and experience.
- Minimum 30 hours per week guaranteed (typically 40+ hours).

Requirements
- Minimum 2 year of relevant construction or carpentry experience.
- Ability to carry out a range of carpentry and construction tasks.
- Skills suitable for sitework.
