Join The Barracks Ltd, a nationwide construction company delivering a strong pipeline of residential, commercial and civil construction projects. We are seeking reliable, motivated Building & Construction Technicians who will work in Otago, but may from time to time be required to relocate to other regions for work, including Auckland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty and Canterbury.
About the Role
You will be working across a variety of construction projects including:
- Residential, commercial and civil construction projects
- Site preparation, demolition, excavation and site set-out
- Foundation, framing and structural construction works
- Installation of framing, insulation, drywall, fibre cement boards, cladding and other building systems
- Formwork, concrete, plaster, mortar and steel reinforcement works
- Civil works including trenching, roadworks, driveways and other civil infrastructure activities
- Installation, inspection, maintenance and repair support for construction systems
- Operating tools and equipment and handling construction materials
- Quality inspections, measurements and basic project documentation
- General construction activities and maintaining safe, clean and organised worksites
You will be responsible for delivering high-quality construction work while maintaining strong health and safety standards. We value clear communication, teamwork and pride in workmanship.
What We Offer
- Hourly rates of $26.69 – $28.00 per hour, based on skills and experience.
- Minimum 30 hours per week guaranteed (typically 40+ hours).

Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of relevant construction experience, or similar.
- Ability to carry out a range of building and construction tasks.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physically fit and capable of performing manual construction work.
- Strong understanding of safe work practices and site safety requirements.
- Ability to complete basic site documentation and paperwork.
- Professional attitude, reliability and strong work ethic.
- Willingness to undergo pre-employment drug screening.

Work Conditions
