Technical Sales Representative
We have an exciting Technical Sales Representative opportunity within our Farm Source business. This is your chance to combine your passion for farming, strong commercial acumen, and relationship-building skills in a role that truly makes an impact. Supporting farmers across the Rai Valley region, we're open to candidates based in Rai Valley, Golden Bay, or Nelson areas, provided you have the ability to effectively service the wider territory. You'll quickly become a valued part of the local farming community, partnering with farmers to help them achieve their goals through trusted advice and tailored solutions.
As a trusted adviser and technical expert, you'll work closely with our existing customer base while proactively identifying new business opportunities to grow market share and strengthen Farm Source's presence in the region. We're looking for someone with a genuine connection to New Zealand's dairy industry and a passion for helping farmers succeed. You'll have proven experience building strong customer relationships and a track record of delivering results through sales, account management, or technical advisory roles. Ideally, you'll bring strong dairy farming knowledge and practical agronomy experience, with the ability to have credible conversations around pasture performance, feed systems, crop management, and on-farm productivity. Experience in animal health, nutrition, agronomy, or a combination of these disciplines will be highly regarded.
You'll combine your technical expertise with a proactive and commercially minded approach, enabling you to identify opportunities, provide valued advice, and build trusted partnerships with farmers and rural businesses. To be successful, you'll be:
- A confident relationship builder who enjoys working directly with farmers.
- Self-motivated and comfortable managing your own territory and workload.
- Organised, process-driven, and able to balance multiple priorities.
- Collaborative and team-focused, while also thriving in an autonomous field-based environment.
- Results-oriented, with a strong drive to grow sales and deliver value for customers.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to take the next step in their rural career while leveraging their dairy and agronomy expertise to support farmers across one of New Zealand's most picturesque farming regions.
