Summary

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Vehicle Painter to join our team in Christchurch. This is a full-time role with a minimum of 30 hours per week guaranteed.

Responsibilities:

·         Preparing vehicle panels by removing rough areas and surface imperfections

·         Sanding vehicle surfaces manually and using power sanding equipment

·         Covering and protecting areas that are not being painted with tape and paper

·         Matching and mixing paint colours to achieve the required shade, as well as choosing suitable pre-mixed paints

·         Applying primer and finishing coats with spray guns, sanding the surface between coats

·         Carrying out paint touch-ups and polishing vehicle surfaces

·         Removing masking materials and completing waxing and polishing of finished paintwork

·         Applying signs, lettering, and artwork to vehicle surfaces

·         Applying rust-proofing chemicals and protective treatments to vehicles

You will need to have:

·         NZQF Level 4 qualification or an equivalent qualification

·         A minimum of three years’ relevant experience may be accepted as an alternative to the formal qualification

·         Relevant work experience and/or on-the-job training may be required alongside the formal qualification, depending on the position

·         Applicants may need to hold the appropriate registration or licence, where applicable
