We are looking for an energetic store manager to work full-time in busy store.

This is a permanent, full-time position requiring extensive retail industry experience to support and expand our plumbing retail and service operations across the Auckland region.

The role requires a commitment of 30–35 hours per week, with working hours scheduled according to business needs and may include weekend shifts.

Job Duties:

  • Plan, organise, and manage the daily operations of the plumbing retail store to ensure efficient workflow, customer service, and business performance.

  • Develop and implement sales strategies, pricing, and promotional activities for plumbing products and services to achieve revenue and profitability targets.

  • Manage inventory levels, including ordering, stock control, supplier coordination, and minimising stock loss or shortages.

  • Supervise, train, roster, and evaluate store staff to maintain productivity, product knowledge, and service standards.

  • Provide professional advice to customers, including trade clients, on plumbing products, solutions, and service options.

  • Monitor sales performance, prepare operational reports, and analyse financial data to support business planning and improvement.

  • Handle customer enquiries, quotations, complaints, and after-sales support to maintain customer satisfaction and long-term relationships.
  • Following up on customer complaints/comments quickly.
  • Ensuring the business has a sufficient level of staffing and staff rosters are prepared promptly.
  • Ensuring staff are aware of specials.
  • Maintaining records of financial transactions, daily cash reconciliation, petty cash and banking.
  • Ensuring the overall business operates smoothly.
  • Answering phones quickly and ensure staff do the same.
  • Fulfilling online orders.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, company policies, and relevant industry standards.

Requirements:

  • At least Level 5 qualification in Business or Management OR two years of experience in retail industry, preferably within plumbing, hardware, building, or trade supply industries.

  • Strong knowledge of retail operations, inventory management, and sales performance monitoring.

  • Ability to lead, train, and supervise staff in a customer-focused environment.

  • Sound understanding of health and safety requirements and compliance in a retail or trade setting.
