CONCRETE CHIPPING TECHNICIAN

Location: Auckland, New Zealand
Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent
Guaranteed Hours: Minimum 30 -40 hours per week
Pay Rate: $25.00 – $35.00 per hour, depending on skills, qualifications and experience.

About the Role

BRO BLASTING LIMITED is seeking  motivated and reliable Concrete Chipping Technicians to join our growing team. The role involves carrying out concrete chipping, breaking, removal and related construction activities on commercial projects while maintaining high standards of workmanship and health and safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform concrete chipping, breaking and removal work using jackhammers, breakers and other power tools.

  • Remove damaged, unwanted or excess concrete from structures, floors, walls and other surfaces.

  • Operate and maintain concrete chipping and demolition equipment safely and efficiently.

  • Assist with concrete cutting, drilling and demolition activities as required.

  • Prepare work sites and materials before commencing work.

  • Load, unload and transport tools, equipment and materials as required.

  • Remove and dispose of concrete debris and maintain clean work areas.

  • Follow workplace health and safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE at all times.

  • Inspect tools and equipment and report any faults or maintenance requirements.

  • Work effectively as part of a team and follow instructions from supervisors.

  • Carry out other duties reasonably required within the scope of the role.

Skills and Experience

Applicants must have:

  • At least 2 years of relevant work experience or qualification 

  • Experience using jackhammers, concrete breakers, grinders or similar equipment.

  • Good understanding of workplace health and safety practices.

  • Good physical fitness and ability to perform manual labour.

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

  • Reliable, punctual and committed to producing quality work.

A current driver's licence and Site Safe certification will be advantageous but are not essential.
