APS Contractors Limited is seeking an experienced, motivated and results-driven Business Development Manager to join its growing business in Auckland. The company operates within the construction and property services sector, delivering a range of building, maintenance, repair, refurbishment and related services to commercial and residential clients.

The Business Development Manager will play an important role in supporting the company's continued growth by identifying new business opportunities, developing relationships with prospective and existing clients, and promoting the company's construction and property service capabilities. The successful applicant will be responsible for developing business opportunities from initial enquiry through to proposal, negotiation and securing new contracts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities within the construction, building maintenance and property services sectors.
  • Research potential clients, projects, developments and market opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients.
  • Contact potential customers and introduce the company's services and capabilities.
  • Understand client requirements and identify suitable services and solutions.
  • Prepare business proposals, quotations, tenders, presentations and other sales documentation.
  • Coordinate responses to requests for proposals, tenders and expressions of interest.
  • Develop and maintain an accurate sales and business development pipeline.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity and developments within the construction and property services industries.
  • Attend client meetings, site meetings, industry events and networking opportunities to promote the business.
  • Negotiate commercial terms and service arrangements with prospective clients within approved company parameters.
  • Follow up leads, proposals and quotations and convert suitable opportunities into new contracts.
  • Work closely with project managers, operations staff and other internal teams to assess project requirements and ensure proposed solutions are practical and achievable.
  • Maintain accurate records of client interactions, opportunities, proposals and sales activities.
  • Monitor contract opportunities and identify opportunities for repeat business and additional services.
  • Develop account-management strategies for key clients and maintain ongoing professional relationships.
  • Prepare regular business development reports for management.
  • Assist senior management with business growth strategies, sales planning and market development.
  • Ensure all business development activities are conducted professionally and in accordance with company policies.
  • Perform other reasonable business development and sales-related duties as required.

Qualification or Experience

  • A Bachelor's degree or higher qualification

At least two years of relevant work experience
