We are looking for an experienced Mechanic for Machinery&Vineyard Mintenance. 

This is a full time role, based in Waiheke Island, Auckland, with guaranteed 40 hours a week, and up to 45 hours during harvest seasons. The role offers rate from $28 to $35 depending on the skills and experience. 

Key responsibilities: 

  • Servicing, maintenance, diagnosis and repair of company machinery, vehicles and equipment, including but not limited to: tractors, tractor implements, utility vehicles, movers, sprayers/spray equipment, vineyard machinery and equipment, other vehicles in the company.
  • Carrying out scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance.
  • Diagnosing mechanical faults and carrying out repairs.
  • Identifying potential mechanical problem before result in failure.
  • Maintaining machinery in a safe, reliable and operational condition.
  • Maintaining appropriate service and repair records.
  • Carrying out welding and basic fabrication.
  • Modifying or fabricating machinery and implements where required.
  • Advising management of damage, faults, safety concerns and if specialist repairs, parts or external contractors are required.
  • Maintaining an appropriate stock of commonly required parts, oils, filters and other consumables.
  • Ensuring machinery is appropriately maintained, cleaned and stored.
  • Completing required pre-start and routine machinery checks.
  • Monitoring machinery during operation and identifying mechanical or operational issues.
  • Operate tractors, vineyard machinery and assist with vineyard and property maintenance activities and general vineyard work when required and as directed by management.
  • Comply with all company health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a safe, tidy and organised workshop and work environment.
  • Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure machinery is operated safely and efficiently.
  • Report hazards, incidents, near misses and unsafe equipment to management.
  • Take ownership of the maintenance, reliability and operational performance of the company’s machinery fleet.
  • Maintain a high standard of mechanical workmanship and work independently to manage maintenance priorities.
  • Undertake other reasonable duties within the employee’s skills, training and experience as directed by management.
