About the Role
EPRO Construction Limited is seeking Bricklayers to join our construction team. EPRO Construction Limited’s administrative office is based in Auckland. This is a project-based, multiple-location role, and employees will be assigned to construction sites according to the company’s confirmed project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Studying plans and specifications to determine the materials required, dimensions and installation procedures
- Erecting and dismantling restricted-height scaffolding
- Sealing foundations with damp-resistant materials and spreading mortar as a base and binder for blocks
- Laying bricks in rows, designs and shapes, and spreading mortar between joints
- Embedding blocks in mortar and removing excess mortar
- Checking vertical and horizontal alignment
- Cutting, shaping and polishing stones and bricks using machines and hand tools
- Shaping bricks to fit irregular spaces
- Repairing and maintaining brickwork, cement blocks and related structures
- Constructing walls using stone slabs and large masonry blocks
- Complying with all site-specific health and safety requirements
Skills and Experience Required
Applicants must have either:
- at least two years of relevant work experience in construction industry, or
- at least an equivalent NZ level 4 qualifictaion in any field
Applicants must also:
- be physically fit and capable of performing manual work;
- be reliable and able to work effectively as part of a team; and
Hours of Work
This is a permanent, full-time position. The employee will be guaranteed a minimum of 30 hours per week and may be required to work up to 50 hours per week, depending on project and site requirements.
Work Locations
This is a multiple-location, project-based position. Work may be performed at EPRO Construction Limited’s confirmed construction project sites in the following areas:
- Auckland Region
- Canterbury Region
- Otago Region
The employee may be assigned to projects in any of the above locations according to genuine project requirements. The duration of each assignment will depend on the relevant project and construction programme. Reasonable notice of project assignments will be provided.
