Description

HTS Transport Limited based in Auckland, is specialised in providing transport service. We are looking for three Transport Specialists to join our growing team. 

You will be expected to work at various sites throughout the Auckland region, a minimum of 30 hours per week from Monday to Saturday as normal hours of work. Please note this is a permanent full-time role and the hourly pay rate would be $26-$35 based on the candidates' experience and skills.

Job Description for This Position

  • Transport general freight, cartage, storage goods and other loads between designated locations, customer sites and warehouses.

  • Follow all lawful and reasonable instructions issued by senior management or the Director.

  • Manoeuvre vehicles safely into the correct position for loading and unloading.

  • Load and unload vehicles safely and professionally using appropriate lifting, tipping and handling equipment.

  • Estimate and monitor load weights, distribute loads safely, and secure, stow and cover goods to prevent movement, loss or damage.

  • Complete pre-start and safety checks, keep fleet vehicles and company equipment clean, secure and properly maintained, and promptly report any faults or defects.

  • Ensure all lifting and load-securing equipment is maintained and complies with applicable safety requirements.

  • Comply with all traffic regulations, health and safety requirements, company procedures, operational guidelines and workplace policies.

  • Carry all required and valid licences while driving, and immediately report any lost licence or traffic infringement.

  • Check loading and delivery documents, inspect the condition and quantity of goods, obtain proof of delivery, and complete all required transport records accurately.

  • Maintain clear, accurate and timely communication with customers, colleagues, management and other relevant parties.

  • Provide safe, timely and helpful services, and conduct yourself courteously, professionally and honestly in accordance with company policies.

  • Promptly report vehicle faults, damaged goods, delivery discrepancies, safety concerns and other operational issues.

  • Follow the company’s issue and grievance resolution procedures to raise and resolve workplace concerns or complaints at the appropriate level.

  • Participate in on-the-job training to improve driving, loading, safety and other relevant skills.

  • Support the promotion of the business and help build strong customer relationships and generate revenue.

  • Maintain a positive and cooperative attitude when working with customers, colleagues and other parties.

  • Carry out any other lawful and reasonable duties required by the senior management or the Director.

Key Requirements for Successful Applicants

  • At least two years of experience in driving is required

  • Hold a valid New Zealand truck driver licence, or an equivalent overseas driver licence that is eligible for conversion to a New Zealand truck driver licence.

  • Punctual and reliable with a positive can-do attitude will be key in this role

  • Be physically fit as the job involves heavy lifting.

  • A positive and willing attitude to learn and progress. 

  • Able to work with deadlines and schedules, and available to work weekends if required.
