As demand continues to grow across aviation, data centres, renewable energy and transport infrastructure, we're looking for an experienced civil engineer to help shape the future.

We're seeking a Senior Associate Civil Engineer / Associate Civil Engineer - Civil & Aviation to join our growing New Zealand team in Auckland. Relocation from Wellington or Christchurch can be discussed.

While aviation experience is a key focus for this position, this is far more than a traditional aviation role. You will have the opportunity to lead and contribute across a diverse portfolio of projects including:

  • Aviation and airport infrastructure
  • Data centres and advanced facilities
  • Renewables and solar farm developments
  • Roads, highways and busway projects
  • Water and multidisciplinary infrastructure programs
  • Major transport and urban development projects

Working closely with local, Australian and global teams, you'll provide technical leadership, design management and project delivery expertise across complex civil infrastructure projects. You'll also play an important role in mentoring engineers, supporting project pursuits and helping grow Jacobs' Civil & Aviation capability across New Zealand and the wider ANZ region.

What you'll do

  • Lead the delivery of civil and aviation infrastructure projects from concept through to detailed design and construction support
  • Act as Design Manager, Discipline Lead, Project Manager or technical lead on multidisciplinary projects
  • Provide technical leadership across aviation, transport, site civil, drainage and infrastructure projects
  • Support business development, proposal preparation and client engagement activities
  • Mentor and develop early and mid-career engineers
  • Work collaboratively with Global Integrated Delivery (GID) teams to deliver high-quality outcomes
  • Build strong relationships with clients, project teams and industry stakeholders
  • Help strengthen Jacobs' aviation capability and contribute to future project opportunities across ANZ

Ideally, you'll also bring

  • Experience delivering airside infrastructure projects
  • Exposure to major transport, renewable energy or data centre projects
  • Experience leading geographically dispersed or integrated delivery teams
  • Commercial awareness and experience supporting work-winning activities

Here's what you'll need

  • Degree qualification in Civil Engineering. Chartered or professionally recognised engineer status (or working towards equivalent recognition) is highly regarded
  • Proven experience delivering civil infrastructure projects within the aviation sector
  • Solid understanding of civil design, site development, drainage and infrastructure design principles
  • Experience in design management, project management or discipline leadership roles
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with clients, stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams to achieve successful project outcomes
