Health and Safety Business Partner
Own H&S where it matters - on the floor. Join a global FMCG business and influence safety across a fast-paced manufacturing operation.
Take ownership of H&S across a busy food manufacturing operation, with additional exposure to operations in Australia. If you're an experienced H&S professional who likes being where the action is, this is an opportunity to step into a broad Business Partner role with genuine scope to make your mark. Our client is a global FMCG business in growth mode, looking for a practical H&S Business Partner to support its Auckland manufacturing operation, with additional exposure across NSW, Australia. You'll be out in the operation, working alongside leaders and frontline teams to understand what's happening, identify opportunities and make sure good safety practices work in the real world – not just on paper.
What you'll own
- Partner with Operations, Production and HR leaders to strengthen H&S culture, capability and performance.
- Lead across risk, incidents, audits and compliance, turning actions into real improvements.
- Own H&S reporting, using data to identify trends, priorities and emerging risks.
- Support injury management, ACC, wellbeing and return-to-work, while coaching leaders to build stronger H&S ownership.
- Help evolve H&S systems and practices as the business continues to grow.
What you'll bring
- 3–5+ years' H&S experience, ideally within food manufacturing, FMCG, production or another operational high-hygiene environment.
- Strong experience across H&S systems, risk and incident management, with a solid understanding of NZ H&S legislation and ACC.
- The ability to build credibility from the factory floor through to leadership and bring people with you in a multicultural and diverse team.
- Confidence to raise issues when needed and find practical solutions that work for both people and the operation.
- Australian H&S experience would be an advantage, but isn't essential.
Why make the move? This is a broad H&S role where you'll have genuine ownership, access to key decision-makers and the opportunity to influence how safety is delivered, while staying connected to the day-to-day operation. You'll also gain exposure beyond New Zealand through the business's Australian operations, giving you the opportunity to broaden your experience and grow your career within a global business.
