Position Overview
We are seeking a reliable, responsible and customer-focused Delivery Driver to join our team. The company provides delivery services and is responsible for the collection and delivery of grocery and food packages to customers.
The successful candidate will be responsible for safely collecting grocery orders from supermarket locations, transporting them to customers and completing deliveries accurately and within scheduled delivery timeframes.
This is a full-time position requiring a minimum of 30 hours per week (up to 40 hours), with working hours generally scheduled Monday to Friday and may include weekends depending on supermarket delivery requirements and customer demand.
Key Responsibilities
● Collect grocery and food orders from contracted supermarket locations.
● Load grocery packages safely and securely into the delivery vehicle.
● Transport food and grocery packages to customers according to assigned delivery routes.
● Deliver orders accurately, safely and within scheduled delivery timeframes.
● Confirm customer details and delivery information before completing deliveries.
● Handle grocery and food packages carefully to prevent damage or contamination.
● Follow appropriate food-handling, hygiene and health and safety procedures.
● Use GPS, delivery applications and electronic scanning devices to manage deliveries.
● Obtain delivery confirmations or customer signatures where required.
● Communicate professionally and courteously with customers.
● Report any missing, damaged or incorrect items to the relevant supervisor or supermarket contact.
● Maintain accurate delivery records and complete required delivery documentation.
● Keep the delivery vehicle clean, tidy and in a safe operating condition.
● Carry out basic daily vehicle safety checks before commencing deliveries.
● Follow all New Zealand road rules and company driving procedures.
● Load and unload grocery packages safely, including lifting packages when required.
● Maintain confidentiality and protect customers' personal and delivery information.
● Comply with company policies, including health and safety, drug and alcohol and vehicle-use policies.

Job Requirements
● A valid New Zealand Full Driver Licence (Class 1) or equivalent is essential.
● Clean driving record with no serious traffic violations.
● Must pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test.
● Must provide a clean criminal record / police clearance.
● Must have the legal right to work in New Zealand.
● Must be physically fit to perform delivery duties safely and effectively.
● MUST be available to work on weekends
