Great Earth Construction Limited is based in Auckland. We are looking for one carpenter to join our awesome team.
You will be expected to work at various sites within the Auckland region. This job requires you to work a minimum of 30 hours per week from Monday to Friday as normal hours of work, and you may also be required to work on Saturday as well. Please note this is a permanent full-time role and the hourly pay rate would be $28.00 - $33.00 based on the candidates' experience and skills.
Job Description for This Position
• Measure, mark, cut and shape timber, plywood, wallboard and other materials using hand tools, power tools and woodworking machinery.
• Assemble and fasten cut and shaped components using nails, screws, bolts, adhesives and other suitable fixing methods.
• Construct and erect building frameworks, including wall frames, roof framing, floor joists, partitions and door frames.
• Install sub-flooring, floorboards, exterior wall cladding, fascia panels, roof sheathing, doors, windows and other timber fixtures.
• Check the alignment, level, dimensions and structural accuracy of completed frameworks and installations using appropriate measuring equipment.
• Assemble prepared timber components to construct structures, fittings and fixtures ready for installation.
• Form and cut timber joints and carry out alterations to ensure components fit correctly and securely.
• Construct and dismantle concrete formwork where required for building and renovation projects.
• Repair, replace and maintain existing interior timber structures, fixtures and fittings, including doors, frames, flooring, wall linings, cabinetry and other carpentry-related components.
• Carry out minor interior property repairs associated with carpentry and renovation work.
• Perform limited touch-up painting on repaired or newly installed surfaces where necessary to complete the carpentry work.
• Follow all workplace health and safety requirements and maintain a clean, organised and safe work area.
Key Requirements

At least two years of work experience as carpenter or construction worker or similar is required

Relevant qualification or certificate is a bonus.

Punctual and reliable with a positive can-do attitude will be key in this role

Be physically fit as the job involves heavy lifting.

A positive and willing attitude to learn and progress.

Able to work with deadlines and schedules, and available to work weekends if required.
