Store Person – Full-Time

A busy, well-established dairy, food bar and takeaway store located in Ashburton, trading seven days a week. We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Store Person to help keep our store well-stocked, organised and running smoothly.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- Receive incoming stock deliveries, checking goods against delivery dockets and invoices, and report any damage or discrepancies.
- Unload delivery vehicles, unpack cartons and other packaging, and sort and put away stock.
- Use the store's stock and point-of-sale system to check and record the location and quantity of stock items.
- Label stock with correct storage locations and pricing.
- Pack, weigh and seal goods, including dairy, food bar and takeaway items, ready for sale or storage.
- Safely lift, place and retrieve stock stored on shelving and in the stockroom and coolroom, including items stored at height.
- Pick and prepare stock and food/beverage orders in line with store procedures, checking items against picking lists.
- Assist with regular stocktakes of the store's stock.
- Use materials handling equipment such as pallet lifters, hand trucks and trolleys to move stock around the store, where required.

Key Terms and Conditions
Employment type: Full-time, permanent
Hours of work: A minimum of 30 guaranteed hours per week, rostered across the store's trading days (Monday to Sunday). The store trades from 5.00am to 6.00pm, 7 days a week, and this role requires weekend(Saturday and Sunday) work as part of the roster.
Pay rate: $25.00 to $28.00 per hour, depending on skills and experience

Minimum Skills, Qualifications and Experience
Applicants must meet one of the following minimum requirements:
- A New Zealand Register (NZQF) Level 2 qualification, or an equivalent qualification; OR
- A minimum of one year's relevant work experience in a retail, warehouse, or hospitality/food environment.
