Develop and implement decision-support analytics to improve Gisborne health service performance

Senior Business Performance and Improvement Analyst/Decision Support

This role exists to work in partnership with the Group Manager, Clinicians and Leaders to provide expert decision support around planning, development, implementation and monitoring of health services to ensure they meet the needs of the population and enable whanau to flourish.

Provide expert analytical and support including data extraction and analysis to inform service planning that addresses health outcome inequity.

Create business analytics tools that will provide data, information and evidence to enable forecasting, trending, capacity modelling, indicator reporting, benchmarking, auditing and when possible, transformation change

Essential Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualification or equivalent or 5 years plus experience in Business Analyst role (preferred)/computer science/ information systems or equivalent work experience
  • Understanding of strategic development and planning
  • Understanding of data modelling and importance of getting it right
  • Experience in project management
  • Excellent informatics and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated application of specialist analysis tools using a range of software to an advanced or expert level such as Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to interpret and analyse financial and business data and present information in an easily understandable format
  • Knowledge of statistical techniques/proven ability to work with and manipulate large data sets
  • Understanding and application of organisational principles of targeted service delivery and reducing inequities for Māori
