Hydro-Vac Operator

Our Civil and earthworks client is looking for a Hydro Excavation Operator to join their team in Hastings.

About the Job:

As a Hydro-Vac Truck Driver, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining a high-pressure water jet with a powerful vacuum system. This specialized truck is used for excavation, debris removal, and other tasks where traditional digging methods are unsafe or impractical.

Key responsibilities include:

• Safely operating hydro excavation and vacuum trucks to expose underground utilities, clear debris, and support essential infrastructure maintenance.
• Carry out hydro excavation work safely and efficiently
• Servicing wastewater plants, pump stations, and public facilities to ensure smooth operations.
• Follow all health and safety procedures and site requirements
• Work effectively as part of a team and maintain a professional approach on site.

The Details:

• Hours: 7am – 5pm (Monday to Friday + occasional weekend + on-call shifts).
• Pay: $28 - $32 per hour depending on experience
• Location: Hastings.

What You Need:

• Class 4F NZ truck license (clean record).
• Physically fit & experienced in operating machinery.
• Can pass a drug test.
• Eligible to work in NZ.
• Dangerous Goods (DG) endorsement is advantageous but not essential
