About the Role

Join Te Pūriri o Te Ora Regional Cancer and Blood Service in this key role supporting the improvement of cancer care and patient outcomes across the Northern Region.

You’ll support the continuous improvement and optimisation of Faster Cancer Treatment (FCT) pathways, using pathway and performance data to identify delays, variation and opportunities for improvement. Your work will help ensure patients move efficiently through diagnosis and treatment.

Working closely with FCT coordinators, clinical leaders and operational teams, you’ll support performance against national FCT targets, strengthen pathway monitoring and data quality, and help identify and address barriers across diagnostic and treatment services. You’ll also play an important role in reducing unwarranted variation and improving equitable access and outcomes for Māori, Pacific and other priority populations.

This permanent, full-time role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on cancer care while developing your leadership capability within a collaborative and supportive environment.

About You

You’ll bring at least two years experience in Faster Cancer Treatment pathways, quality or service improvement, and health data and performance reporting. You’ll be confident working across complex healthcare environments, building strong relationships with clinical and operational teams, and using data to identify opportunities for improvement. A relevant tertiary qualification and understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi are essential, with cancer pathway coordination or quality improvement experience highly desirable.

Te Pūriri o Te Ora means "the Pūriri tree of wellbeing" and speaks to the many qualities and gifts of the Pūriri tree and our aspiration to provide a place of healing and wellbeing for our communities.

Te Pūriri o Te Ora is the biggest cancer and blood service within Aotearoa, providing care to approximately 40% of the country. We provide a wide range of services including Medical and Radiation Oncology, Haematology, Āwhinatia Te Tangata (specialist Māori Health team), Cancer Support Team (specialist psychological and social support), Research, Genetics Services, and the NZ Familial Gastrointestinal Cancer Service.
