We are a busy Bay of Plenty-based horticulture service provider. We have a vacancy for skilled Bookkeeper.
The position is full-time and at least 30 hours of work is guaranteed per week, additional hours up to 45 per week may be available during peak seasons.
Our work is dynamic and fast-paced, requiring robust financial tracking, clear communication with field staff, and accurate cost allocation across multiple sites and jobs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Maintain accurate day-to-day financial records and ensure timely entry of transactions into accounting software.
• Track income and expenses across multiple projects and seasonal workflows.
• Prepare and issue invoices for services rendered, and follow up on outstanding payments.
• Process supplier payments, staff reimbursements, and credit card reconciliations.
• Monitor and report on cash flow and spending.
• Generate and review periodic financial summaries, including profit/loss reports and budget comparisons.
• Reconcile account balances and investigate any discrepancies in bank statements.
• Assist with preparing GST returns and maintaining compliance with tax obligations.
• Liaise with operational staff to ensure accurate coding of costs and job-related transactions.
• Maintain digital and physical financial records in accordance with audit and reporting requirements.
• Flag irregularities or unexpected variations in expenditure or revenue to management for review.
Requirements:
• At least 2 years’ relevant experience or a relevant tertiary qualification.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills (insight will be tested at interview).
• Proficiency in MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Comfortable visiting kiwifruit orchards in rural areas to collect and exchange documents with operations staff.
