We are looking for two keen Assistant Gardeners to join our business in Christchurch. We are looking for people who are determined, love working outdoors, and not afraid to get their hands dirty. If this sounds like you, then read on!

This is a fulltime role, and we offer a minimum of 30 hours per week. The pay rate is between $24 to $30 per hour depending on your previous skills and experience. Flexibility is required, as the role is rostered and includes weekend work.

Job Description:

The roles that you will be required to complete include:

·         loading, unloading and moving garden supplies and equipment

·         preparing garden sites and plots using hand tools and machines

·         assisting with planting, transplanting and positioning flowers, shrubs, trees and

·         lawns in gardens maintaining gardens by watering, weeding, pruning, mulching and fertilising,

·         operating and adjusting irrigation systems and using protection strategies

·         raking, aerating, dethatching, fertilising and mowing lawns

·         spraying and dusting trees, shrubs, lawns and gardens, as directed, to control

·         pests, weeds and disease

·         cleaning gardens and removing rubbish

The successful applicant will have:

A hard working, determined attitude

No issues with working outside in the elements or early start.

Previous experience in gardening or landscaping would be ideal, but not required

A vehicle and full driver's license to get in between work sites is required.

No formal experience required, as on the job training will be provided.
