Position: Cabinetmaker

Job duties:

• Studying design plans and drawings to determine materials, dimensions
and installation procedures
• Selecting timbers and other materials, and preparing layouts
• Measuring and cutting materials to the right size and shape
• Preparing and assembling the wood parts to make cabinet furniture or
form sections of build-in furniture
• Erecting and installing cabinets, drawers, shelves and boards
• Fitting and repairing hardware, such as hinges, locks and catches
• Refurbishing and repairing the existing wood furniture and fittings
• Maintain and clean company power tools and equipment
• Ensuring that all activities undertaken are compliant with related
regulations
• Prompt reporting of equipment defects and damage to management

Pay rate: $28-$34/hour

Guaranteed hours of work per week: Minimum 30 hours, permanent, full-time

To be successful you will need to:

  • at least 2 years of relevant experience in the same construction field, OR,
  • at least a relevant level 4 qualification or above, can be equivalant overseas qualification
  • full time availability
  • Be physically fit and healthy
  • Good eye for details and an ability to solve problems practically and effectively
  • no criminal record
  • Candidates need to be NZ citizen/resident
  • Fluent in Mandarin
