Earn 120k to 150k AUD plus 12% super as a production / workshop supervisor in regional NSW.
Why Apply

Ready to step up from the tools and actually run something rather than just being told what to run?

The company is a growing specialised fabrication business based in Inverell, NSW, and they need a Production Supervisor who can take genuine ownership of the workshop floor. This is not a middle-management position with someone looking over your shoulder. You will manage job flow, staff, scheduling, QA, procurement coordination, and customer liaison. The salary is negotiable toward the top end for a strong candidate and the lifestyle in regional NSW costs a fraction of any major Australian city.
  • Earn 120k to 150k AUD plus 12% super, salary negotiable based on experience with a strong candidate able to push toward the upper end
  • Full ownership of the workshop floor across job scheduling, staff management, QA, procurement coordination, and walk-in customer liaison
  • Genuine career advancement in a growing business actively building its team for the future, the right person grows with the company long term
  • Autonomy and trust from day one, this is a senior role where your decisions shape how the workshop runs, not a seat-warmer position
  • Broad scope across quoting input, recruitment involvement, scheduling, and QA in a niche specialised fabrication environment
  • Inverell lifestyle, regional NSW with a lower cost of living, a quieter pace outside of work, and a tight-knit community worth investing in
The Role

You will be taking ownership of the workshop floor at a specialised fabrication business in Inverell, NSW. The role spans personnel management, job scheduling, quality assurance, procurement coordination, and customer-facing responsibilities. This is a hands-on supervisory position in a fabrication environment. You need to have genuinely run a team before, not just worked in one. Trade background alone without supervisory experience will not suit this role.

Day to day you will be:
  • Managing workshop staff and coordinating job flow across the fabrication floor
  • Scheduling jobs, allocating labour, and ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met
  • Overseeing QA processes and maintaining workmanship standards across all workshop output
  • Liaising with the admin team on procurement, purchasing, and customer coordination
  • Handling walk-in customers and client interactions professionally and confidently
  • Contributing to quoting and estimating processes as required
  • Driving a culture of loyalty, accountability, and continuous improvement across the team
Standard hours are Monday to Friday, 6am to 5pm, with some Saturdays as required. If you are an experienced fabrication workshop supervisor, production floor supervisor, or leading hand from a structural steel, heavy fabrication, or engineering background who is ready to step fully into a management role, this is worth a serious look.

What We Need
  • Demonstrated personnel management experience, this is the client's primary non-negotiable and candidates without it will not be considered regardless of trade background
  • Relevant trade qualification in fabrication, structural steel, boilermaking, or similar
  • Organised and process-driven with the ability to juggle scheduling, QA, and people management simultaneously
  • Comfortable interacting with walk-in customers and admin staff as well as the workshop team
  • Valid driver's licence and own transport, essential in a regional location
  • Genuinely committed to relocating to Inverell long term, regional rural living must be a genuine choice, not just a yes on a screening call
  • Loyalty-minded with a pattern of stable, long-term employment, job-hoppers will not suit this client
Why This Role

At 120k to 150k AUD plus 12% super in a regional town where your dollar goes significantly further than in any major Australian city, the financial and lifestyle proposition here is genuinely strong. Add full autonomy over a growing fabrication workshop, real input into the direction of the business, and a client who explicitly rewards the people who commit long term, and this is a rare senior opportunity for the right person.

For Kiwi fabrication supervisors and leading hands who are ready to step up, own something properly, and build a long-term career in a business that values loyalty above almost everything else, this is worth the conversation.
