Durva Limited operates a retail convenience store (dairy/superette) providing everyday grocery, household and convenience products to local customers in Wellington.

We are seeking a reliable, experienced and motivated Store Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of the store and support the continued growth and profitability of the business.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

The successful applicant will be responsible for:

• Managing the daily operation of the store and ensuring the business operates efficiently and professionally.
• Planning and implementing store policies, procedures and operational standards.
• Managing stock levels, ordering products, checking deliveries and maintaining accurate inventory records.
• Monitoring sales performance, setting sales targets and implementing strategies to improve sales and profitability.
• Managing pricing, product displays, promotions and merchandising to maximise sales.
• Recruiting, training, supervising and rostering store staff.
• Ensuring staff provide excellent customer service and comply with store policies and procedures.
• Handling customer enquiries, complaints and feedback in a professional and timely manner.
• Managing supplier relationships and communicating with suppliers as required.
• Ensuring the store complies with relevant health and safety, employment, consumer and other New Zealand legal requirements.
• Maintaining accurate records of sales, purchases, staff rosters, wages, stock and other business activities.
• Monitoring store cleanliness, presentation and general standards.
• Identifying operational issues and implementing appropriate solutions and improvements.
• Reporting business performance, operational issues and improvement plans to the business owner/director.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have:

• At least 18 months of relevant dairy/convenience store experience.
• Strong customer service, communication, staff management and problem-solving skills.
• The ability to work weekends, public holidays and flexible shifts as required by the business.
• Basic computer, administration and record-keeping skills.
• Knowledge and practical experience in stock control, product ordering, sales reporting and daily retail store operations.
• The ability to work responsibly and independently while managing the demands of a busy retail environment.
• Be willing to undergo a pre-employment drug test, where required by the company.
