Mental Health & Addictions Quality and Safety Programme Coordinator - Hawkes Bay Fallen Soldiers Hospital

Fixed Term for 12 months, Part Time, 64 hours per fortnight (0.8 FTE)

About the Role

As the Mental Health and Addictions Quality & Safety Programme Coordinator, you will lead and coordinate quality and safety initiatives across Mental Health and Addiction Services, with a strong focus on equity, continuous improvement, and clinical excellence.

Working closely with clinical and operational leaders, you will support clinical governance activities, coordinate adverse event reviews, lead quality improvement projects, undertake clinical audits, and contribute to the development of evidence based guidelines and policies. You will identify trends, monitor risks, and use insights from data, consumer feedback, and review processes to support safer and more effective service delivery.

This is a highly collaborative role that offers the opportunity to influence practice across a wide range of services, strengthen clinical governance, and drive initiatives that improve both quality and patient outcomes.

About the Team/Service/Location

The Mental Health and Addictions Service provides specialist assessment, treatment, and support services across Hawke's Bay. You will work alongside clinical leaders, quality teams, consumer representatives, and multidisciplinary teams who are committed to continuous improvement, equitable outcomes, and delivering high quality care for tangata whaiora and whānau.

About You

As a Mental Health and Addictions Quality & Safety Programme Coordinator, you will bring:

  • Registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand or a relevant Allied Health professional body, along with a current practising certificate
  • At least 5 years of recent and relevant clinical experience
  • Experience leading quality improvement, clinical governance, or patient safety initiatives
  • Strong project management, problem solving, and analytical skills
  • Experience working effectively within multidisciplinary teams and engaging stakeholders across a range of services
  • An understanding of continuous quality improvement principles and equity in practice
  • A commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and improving outcomes for Māori and all communities
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence change through collaboration and leadership
