About the Role

As a Senior Advisor, Planning and Performance, you will play a key role in supporting the National Public Health Service (NPHS) Planning and Performance team through the coordination, development, and continuous improvement of organisational planning and performance reporting. You will lead the delivery of high-quality executive reporting, analyse complex data to provide meaningful insights, and work closely with stakeholders across NPHS to support strategic planning, performance monitoring, and informed decision-making. This role is well suited to an experienced professional who can translate complex information into clear recommendations, build strong working relationships, and drive improvements in reporting processes and systems.

About You

You are a strategic and analytical planning and performance professional with experience working in complex environments and delivering high-quality reporting, insights, and advice to support organisational objectives. You are confident working with data, engaging with a wide range of stakeholders, and translating complex information into clear, actionable recommendations. With strong relationship management skills and a continuous improvement mindset, you thrive in a collaborative environment and are motivated by contributing to better outcomes for communities across Aotearoa New Zealand.

Proven experience in planning, performance, reporting, or business improvement roles within a large and complex organisation

Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and provide meaningful insights to support decision-making

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing reports and briefing materials for senior leaders

Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels

Highly organised, self-motivated, and committed to continuous improvement and delivering high-quality outcomes
