We are looking for an experienced loader/truck driver to assist our logistics team,  This role would suit someone who is fit and agile and has previous experience with structural steel and/or experience in the logging industry.  A safety conscious person is a must.

t is imperative that you can think logically as there are many considerations with loading/moving steel such as (weight/dimensions, tonnage/over dunnage/excessive lengths).

Key Responsibilities:

Safely and efficiently load structural steel components onto trucks according to loading schedules and specifications.
Verify and inspect materials prior to loading to ensure quality standards are met.
Utilize appropriate equipment and tools to secure and stabilize loads during transportation.
Collaborate with transport/logistics teams to coordinate loading activities and optimize efficiency.
Maintain cleanliness of loading areas to uphold safety standards 
Ensure all chains/slings/strops are maintained and in good order
Adhere to company policies and procedures regarding safety, quality, and operational guidelines.

Experience:

Proven experience as a truck loader, preferably with specialization in handling structural steel components.
Strong knowledge of safety regulations and practices related to loading and transportation.
Ability to read and interpret loading schedules, job orders, delivery dockets
Experience in operating loading equipment such as forklifts, cranes, and hoists (advantageous but training will be given)
Excellent attention to detail, problem solver
Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
