SNM Automotive 2026 Limited is seeking a skilled and motivated Mechanic to join our team in Christchurch. The successful applicant will be responsible for carrying out servicing, maintenance, inspections, diagnostics and repairs on a range of vehicles while ensuring all work is completed to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out routine vehicle servicing, maintenance and mechanical repairs.
  • Diagnose and identify mechanical and electrical faults using appropriate diagnostic equipment.
  • Inspect vehicles and assess the condition of engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, steering and other mechanical components.
  • Repair, replace and adjust faulty or worn vehicle components.
  • Carry out oil changes, brake servicing, tyre-related work and other general mechanical tasks.
  • Perform pre-purchase and safety-related vehicle inspections as required.
  • Use diagnostic tools and workshop equipment safely and effectively.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, parts used and work completed.
  • Ensure vehicles are repaired and maintained in accordance with manufacturer specifications and industry standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organised and safe workshop environment.
  • Follow all workplace health and safety procedures and ensure safe handling of tools, machinery and equipment.
  • Communicate with customers and provide clear information regarding vehicle faults, required repairs and maintenance.
  • Carry out other reasonable mechanical and workshop duties as required.
