The Role

We are looking for a Civil Engineering Technician to support our civil construction projects and day-to-day project coordination. The role would suit someone with a civil engineering qualification and experience in civil engineering, construction, quality management, project coordination or technical consulting.

 

The successful candidate will work closely with project managers, site teams, contractors, suppliers and clients to support project delivery, documentation, quality and compliance.

 

Key Responsibilities

  1. Support civil construction projects including earthmoving, drainage, retaining walls, roading and foundation works.
  2. Assist with site measurements, levels, quantities and project documentation.
  3. Coordinate with site teams, operators, subcontractors, suppliers and other project stakeholders.
  4. Assist with project planning, progress tracking and day-to-day coordination.
  5. Prepare and maintain project records, reports and supporting documentation.
  6. Monitor quality requirements and assist with quality and compliance documentation.
  7. Identify project issues and assist with practical solutions.
  8. Support project managers in keeping works on schedule and within budget.
  9. Communicate with clients, contractors and other stakeholders as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Previous experience in civil engineering, construction, project coordination, quality management or a related technical field.
  • Good understanding of civil construction processes and project documentation.
  • Experience with quality systems, compliance or certification is an advantage.
  • Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work with site teams, contractors and clients.
  • NZ civil construction experience is an advantage but not essential.
  • Must have the legal right to work in New Zealand.
