Tiler

Sophia Tiling Ltd is a Auckland based tiling service company. Currently, we are seeking multiple Tilers to join our team. The role is a full-time position with a guaranteed minimum of 30 hours per week.

This role involves installing ceramic, clay, slate, marble, and glass tiles on interior and exterior walls and floors to create both protective and decorative finishes. Their duties include:

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

• Reading and interpreting plans, measuring areas, and marking surfaces for layout.
• Preparing wall and floor surfaces by removing old tiles, grout, and adhesives; repairing cracks and holes; and cleaning surfaces.
• Applying adhesive to prepared surfaces and positioning tiles accurately.
• Cutting and shaping tiles using specialised tools for edges, corners, and around fixtures such as pipes and fittings.
• Ensuring proper tile alignment, spacing, and finish.
• Grouting, cleaning, and removing excess grout.
• Applying waterproofing systems where required.
• Laying granolithic, terrazzo, or similar flooring materials.
• Creating decorative patterns or mosaics with coloured tiles.

The successful candidate must have:
