Building Maintenance Repairman

We operate motel and has expanded operations into residential building general repairs, alterations, renovations, and house construction. Therefore, we are seeking 2 skilled Building Maintenance Repairmen to join our team.

In this role, you will be responsible for structural carpentry, joinery, general repairs, and remodeling across our motel premises and residential property projects. You will ensure all structures, fixtures, and finishes meet building standards and quality expectations.

Tasks you may carry out:

• Study building plans, drawings, and specifications to determine necessary materials, dimensions, and installation procedures for motel maintenance and residential renovation projects. 
• Select, order, and prepare appropriate timbers, plywood, wallboard, and other construction materials, keeping layouts optimized to minimize waste.
• Cut materials, assemble, and fit timber parts to construct, erect, and install wooden frameworks, partition walls, rafters, and sub-flooring for renovations and building alterations. 
• Fit exterior wall cladding, door and window frames, and nail fascia panels or sheathing roofs where required. 
• Fabricate, cut wood joints, assemble, and install wooden structures and fixtures (such as doors, windows, staircases, cabinetry, and internal panelling) ready for use within the motel rooms or residential sites. 
• Inspect, repair, and replace damaged framework, existing fittings, and weathered structures made of wood and related materials across the premises.
• Fit locks, hinges, handles, and other hardware to doors and cabinetry; apply basic materials, laminates, or protective coatings as required to protect and enhance fittings.
• Be able to work with plastic laminates and metal materials when required
• Safe operation of a variety of hand and power tools or carpentry machinery, maintaining a clean and hazard-free working environment.

To be successful you will need to:

• Have at least two years solid relevant experience, or
• Have a relevant Level 4 qualification or equivalent qualifications/certificates
• Be a great team player, be able to follow instructions
• Be physically fit and willingness to work hard
