Baker

Key Responsibilities
• Prepare and bake a variety of breads, pastries, cakes, and other baked goods according
to recipes and quality standards.
• Measure ingredients for each recipe
• Mix, knead, shape, and proof dough for various bakery products
• Operate and maintain baking equipment such as ovens, mixers, and proofers safely and
efficiently
• Monitor baking processes and adjust temperatures, times, and ingredients as needed to
ensure consistent quality
• Decorate and finish baked products to presentation standards for display and sale
• Prepare fillings, icings, and toppings for cakes, pastries, and specialty items
• Ensure all products meet food safety, hygiene, and quality standards
• Manage inventory of baking ingredients and supplies, notifying management of low stock
• Maintain a clean, organised, and hygienic work area in compliance with food safety
regulations
• Work collaboratively with the café team to meet daily production schedules and customer
demand
• Comply with all workplace health and safety regulations and food hygiene standards
• Perform any other reasonable duties as required by the employer

Pay rate
• Minimum: $30/hour - Maximum: $32/hour

Guaranteed hours of work per week
• Permanent, fulltime, minimum 30 hours per week

Key requirements
• At least 2 years of relevant experience
• Must be flexible to work on a rotating roster between 5:30 AM to 2:30 PM on weekdays,
and from 6:30 AM to 1:30 PM on Sundays, including public holidays.
• No criminal record
• Hold a valid New Zealand work rights
