Class1 Motors, operated by Auto Lab Trading Limited, is an established automotive workshop and used vehicle dealership located in Seaview, Lower Hutt. The business is not only engaged in the import and sale of quality used vehicles, but also provides comprehensive automotive services to customers throughout the Wellington region, including regular vehicle servicing and maintenance, mechanical repairs, diagnostics, and automotive electrical repairs. We are now looking for a full-time automotive electrician to join us.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose electrical and electronic faults in motor vehicles using appropriate diagnostic equipment and testing tools.
  • Repair, replace and maintain vehicle electrical components, wiring and electronic systems.
  • Inspect, test and repair batteries, alternators, starter motors, lighting systems and other electrical components.
  • Diagnose and repair faults relating to vehicle ignition, charging and starting systems.
  • Install, maintain and repair electrical accessories and vehicle electronic equipment.
  • Read and interpret wiring diagrams, technical manuals and diagnostic information.
  • Carry out electrical inspections and testing as part of vehicle servicing and repair work.
  • Identify required parts and components and ensure repairs are completed accurately and efficiently.
  • Test vehicles and repaired electrical systems to ensure faults have been properly rectified.
  • Maintain accurate records of diagnostic findings, repairs and parts used.
  • Follow workplace health and safety procedures and maintain a clean and safe workshop environment.
  • Work closely with automotive technicians and other workshop staff to complete vehicle maintenance and repair work.

    In return, we will guarantee to provide on-job-training support, as well as guarantee a fair pay of $30 - $35 based on 40 hours per week depending on your background. 
    As the ideal candidates, you must demonstrate a least of 2 years work experience or a level 4 or above NZQF relevant qualification to show you are capable to undertake this job. You also need to be fully committed and be able to cover some overtimes and weekend shifts if required.
