NIUS GARDEN LIMITED, established in 2020, specializes in offering gardening services, landscaping construction, as well as wooden furnishing renovations and installations for clients in the Auckland region. We are currently seeking an experienced Carpenter to help ensure that all our projects are completed smoothly and efficiently.

What do we offer:

A full-time, permanent position with a minimum of 40 guaranteed hours per week.

Pay rate: $31.00–$33.00 per hour, depending on skills and experience.

Key Task & Responsibilities:

  • Constructs, erects, installs, renovates and repairs structures and fixtures of wood, plywood, wallboard and other materials
  • Cutting, shaping and fitting timber parts 
  • Timber decking and fencing installation, with a particular focus on elevated deck installations.
  • Wooden stairs installation
  • Wooden pergola installation
  • Assembling prepared wood to form structures and fittings ready to install
  • Cutting wood joints
  • Repairing existing fittings
  • Working with plastic laminates, perspex and metals
  • Construct concrete formwork
  • Joinery fixing with landscaping structures and facilities

Requirements and skills：

  • At least 2 years of relevant work experience is required, preferably in a similar industry
  • Experience in the installation, renovation and maintenance of timber decks, fences and pergolas.
  • Proficient in using hand tools (such as large saws) and machines for woodworking, primarily for cutting, shaping, and fitting timber components
  • Experience in the installation and renovation of wooden furnishings, particularly in the renovation of wooden cabinets
  • Able to comprehend the information and data as detailed in resource consent and building consent, such as landscape plan set and architectural plan, civil engineer EPA and driveway design, structure engineer retaining wall design and timber barrier design.
  • Good teamwork and communication skills.
  • Good attention to detail and ability to learn quickly.
  • Able to travel to different work sites within the Auckland region as required.
  • Able to work safely at heights, including on elevated deck installations.
  • Familiar with construction site health and safety requirements.
  • Available to work weekends and public holidays when reasonably required.
