We are looking for two reliable Laundry Assistants to join our laundromat in Kaitaia. The successful applicant will assist with daily laundry services, customer service and maintaining a clean and orderly workplace.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive, identify and sort clothes, sheets and other items according to their cleaning requirements.

  • Check items for stains, damage and any special cleaning instructions.

  • Load, operate and unload commercial washing, drying and dry-cleaning machines.

  • Select appropriate cleaning cycles and measure laundry or cleaning products in accordance with operating instructions.

  • Monitor machines and equipment during washing, drying and dry-cleaning processes.

  • Iron or press items as required.

  • Fold, organise, package and label completed laundry for collection.

  • Check cleaned items for cleanliness, condition and presentation.

  • Assist customers and process service requests accurately.

  • Clean machines, equipment and work areas, and report faults or damaged items to the manager.

  • Follow workplace health and safety and operating procedures.

  • Flexibility to work rostered shifts from Monday to Saturday.

  • Availability to start work at 7am when rostered.

  • Reliability, punctuality and attention to detail.

  • Willingness to learn and follow instructions.

  • A friendly and helpful approach to customers.
