We are hiring for Friendship Builder Limited to carry out routine labouring and site support tasks on building and construction sites, including preparing and clearing sites, moving and handling building materials, assisting tradespeople, and maintaining safe and tidy work areas, in accordance with project plans, site instructions and New Zealand health and safety requirements.

●        Pay rate: from $24-$25 per hour

●        Days required: 5-6 days/week

●        Hours per week: min 30, max 60 hours per week

Responsibilities and Account abilities:

●  Excavate and fill trenches, holes and footings by hand and with hand tools.

●  Spread and level soil, gravel, sand and base course on roads, driveways, trench bottoms and slab areas.

● Clear sites of debris, vegetation and surplus material; load spoil into wheelbarrows, conveyors, trucks and bins for removal.

● Set up and maintain site access, barricades, fencing and signage.

● Load, unload, stack and distribute construction materials, tools and equipment to and around the site.

● Mix, pour and spread concrete, plaster, mortar and similar materials.

● Operate basic hand and power tools (e.g. wheelbarrow, shovel, compactor, jackhammer, concrete mixer, cutting equipment) safely and as directed.

● Assist with the delivery, storage and protection of materials.

● Erect and dismantle temporary structures such as barricades, edge protection and scaffolding (within licence/training limits).

● Assist with the assembly and installation of pipework, valves and fittings.

 ●Assist with the installation of sanitary fixtures and fittings.

● Assist carpenters, bricklayers, tilers, drainlayers and other tradespeople with tasks as directed.

● Assist with demolition of structures using ladders, swing stages, cradles and hydraulic elevating work platforms, only where trained, and authorised.

● Keep the site clean, tidy and free of hazards; clean storm water channels and drains and carry out minor repairs.

● Erect, inspect and maintain temporary safety barriers and edge protection.

● Follow all site health and safety rules; use PPE at all times; participate in toolbox talks and site inductions.

● Report hazards, incidents, near misses and equipment faults to the Site Supervisor immediately.

● Follow instructions from supervisors and work cooperatively as part of a crew.

● Complete any other reasonable labouring duties as directed, consistent with the role and the employee's training and competence.

Job Requirement

●  At least 2 years of relevant, verifiable work experience as a builder's labourer, construction labourer or general construction site worker; OR NZQCF Level 4 qualification 

●  Clean non-criminal record

●  Arrive fit for work and free from the influence of drugs or alcohol;
