Electrical Trades Assistant

The Electrical Trades Assistant is responsible for providing technical support and expertise to Electricians, in all range of projects from residential, commercial to industrial and appliances.

The role is permanent full time with minimum 30 hours per week, up to 45 hours if required.

Your accountabilities include but are not limited to:

Assist Electrical Trade Techs on work sites with various duties.
Assist with and carry out general work around the Fiordland Electrical Workshop.
Work within our retail appliance shop including delivery and setup of appliances, TV’s, Computers etc
Participate in tailgate briefings and assist with the identification of hazards prior to starting work.
Undertake effective care of vehicle fleet, plant and equipment at the workshop to ensure clean, tidy and in good running order
Undertake associated manual civil work.

General labouring duties
Be directly responsible for your own health and safety to ensure that you go home safely and in good health after every day.
Other duties as required.

To be qualified for this role, you need to demonstrate:

• At least 6 months relevant work experience, prefer 12 months or more experience
• A clear NZ driver's licence or overseas equivalent, or ability to achieve one
• Ideally with relevant certificate or higher education 
• Can work unsupervised or part of a team
• Willing to undergo pre-employment drug screening
• Put health and safety first
• Calm, professional and with good work ethic
• Drug free
• New Zealand citizens/residents, or with a valid work visa.
