Clean Cut Mulching and Mowing Limited provides horticultural services across orchard sites in the Bay of Plenty region. The business requires Horticulture Leading Hands to coordinate field operations, supervise Field Supervisors, and ensure orchard activities are completed efficiently, safely, and to the required quality standards. These roles are essential for maintaining productivity, managing labour resources, supporting orchard operations, and ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety requirements.


Position Title: Horticulture Leading Hand
Number of Positions: 3
Location: Bay of Plenty, New Zealand
Pay Rate: $30 – $37 per hour
Hours of Work: 30 – 50 hours per week

Key Requirements
At least 2 Year's of Experience OR Level 4 Qualification.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise a team of Field Supervisors to complete daily tasks efficiently and safely.
  • Allocate Supervisors to specific tasks and form work groups according to daily production requirements.
  • Monitor team performance, productivity, attendance, and work quality through Field Supervisors.
  • Train and support new and existing Field Supervisors in workplace procedures and task requirements.
  • Ensure kiwifruit is handled carefully to minimise bruising, damage, and product loss.
  • Monitor fruit quality and report any quality issues to the Orchard Manager.
  • Ensure Supervisors achieve required productivity and quality targets.
  • Conduct toolbox meetings and communicate daily work instructions to Supervisors.
  • Ensure all workers follow company health and safety procedures and site requirements.
  • Identify and report workplace hazards, incidents, and equipment issues promptly.
  • Organise daily work schedules and labour requirements before Supervisors and workers arrive on site.
  • Maintain accurate records of worker numbers, hours worked, productivity, and completed tasks using information supplied by Supervisors.
  • Liaise with management regarding daily progress, staffing requirements, and operational issues.
  • Maintain a professional, respectful, and productive working environment across orchard sites.

 

Position Title: Canopy Maintenance Technician
Number of Positions: 3
Location: Bay of Plenty
Pay Rate: $29 – $38 per hour
Hours of Work: 30 – 50 hours per week 
 
 
  • Key Requirements
  • 1 year experience OR Level 4 qualification.
  • Drug test is required
  • Background criminal check is also required

Key Responsibilities

  • Construct, erect, install and repair orchard structures by carrying out work on work sites and safely using materials required on sites.
  • Install frost protection netting and artificial shelter wind break).
  • Replace posts, fix and install end assemblies.
  • Handle installation of new canopy structure agbeam) and converting existing wooden structure to agbeam.
  • Handle installing agbeam, canopy wires and strainer wire.
  • Join wooden posts using fitting spacers and set up wiring.
  • Use hand and power tools to perform daily activities.
  • Receive deliveries, if any.
  • Check equipment, stock and gears.
  • Put appropriate signages daily around the work carried.
  • Use various tools and products.
  • May operate machinery and equipment in relation to installation of canopy.
  • Will need to liaise with Council and other Building Authorities when necessaryry.
  • Will be required to train and supervise construction labourers.
