Educational Psychology Practice Adviser

Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting an Educational Psychology Practice Adviser to join Te Whānau o Ako Pai - School of Education on a permanent, part-time (0.5 FTE) basis.

The role requires relevant knowledge of the practice of Educational Psychology in Aotearoa New Zealand and contributes to the coordination and teaching of the Postgraduate Diploma of Educational Psychology Practice (PGDipEPP) programme.

Our team of Educational Psychologists and academics consists of internationally recognised scholars with expertise in a range of areas related to the practice of Educational/School Psychology. We have strong community connections, and this is a fantastic opportunity to join a collaborative and supportive team.

The role is 20 hours a week, and the preferred start date is 01 March 2027.

About You

The successful candidate will:

  • Hold a current practicing certificate as a registered educational psychologist in New Zealand and have considerable experience as a psychologist working in education.
  • Have a commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and to implementing culturally responsive practices.
  • Be a highly organised self-starter and natural relationship builder, who will build and maintain relationships with educational psychologists, the Ministry of Education, and community providers of internship placements.
  • Have the ability to remain calm under pressure and thrive working with a diverse range of stakeholders.
