HVAC Supervisor

About the Role

This is a hands-on Supervisor position with a small, established HVAC business.

You will be responsible for leading the team, keeping the work flowing and making sure customers are looked after. You will need to be comfortable moving between the technical side of the job, the people and commercial side of the business.

Your day could include:

• Leading and supporting a small team of HVAC Technicians

• Planning and allocating daily and weekly workloads

• Dealing directly with customers and Facility Managers

• Preparing quotes for repairs, remedial works and replacements

• Handling customer queries and complaints

• Monitoring job progress, quality and productivity

• Carrying out site audits and reviewing completed work

• Conducting performance reviews and providing feedback to the team

• Coordinating subcontractors and other trades

• Assisting with complex HVAC fault finding when required

• Ensuring health & safety and site requirements are being met

• Maintaining strong customer relationships

About You

You will be a qualified Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Technician with solid commercial HVAC experience.

You may already be a Supervisor, or you could be a strong Senior Technician or Team Leader who is ready for the next move.

What matters most is that you’re good with people and ready to take ownership.

You’ll be comfortable talking to customers, understanding what they need, putting together a quote, organising the work and following it through. If something goes wrong, you won’t shy away from the conversation – you’ll pick up the phone and sort it out.

You’ll ideally have:

• NZ trade qualification in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning

• Strong commercial HVAC experience

• Previous team leadership, mentoring or supervisory experience

• Good technical and fault-finding ability

• Confidence dealing with customers and contractors

• Experience with quoting and job scheduling

• Good organisational skills

• A practical, common-sense approach

• EST licence

The Opportunity

This is a role for someone who wants to move beyond being purely technical and develop the people, customer and commercial side of HVAC supervision.

You don’t need to have spent years as a Supervisor. If you’ve got the technical background, the maturity and the communication skills, this could be the opportunity to make that move.
