Khalon Enterprises Limited operates horticultural and orchard activities in the Bay of Plenty region and requires an Orchard Manager to oversee daily orchard operations and ensure the efficient management of orchard resources. The role is essential for coordinating staff, planning seasonal programmes, maintaining crop quality, monitoring productivity, and ensuring orchard operations are completed safely and efficiently to achieve production targets.

Pay Rate: $32 – $38 per hour
Hours of Work: 30 – 50 hours per week

Key Requirements
At least 2 Year's of Experience OR Level 4 Qualification.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, organise, and oversee day-to-day orchard operations.
  • Coordinate orchard staff, contractors, and labour teams to achieve production targets.
  • Monitor orchard productivity, crop quality, and operational performance.
  • Develop and implement seasonal work programmes including pruning, thinning, training, spraying, irrigation, and harvesting activities.
  • Monitor crop health and identify issues relating to pests, diseases, and environmental conditions.
  • Ensure orchard activities are carried out in accordance with quality standards and production requirements.
  • Maintain orchard records including production, labour, spray, and maintenance records.
  • Monitor and maintain orchard equipment, tools, and infrastructure.
  • Liaise with management regarding orchard performance, staffing requirements, and operational planning.
  • Make day-to-day operational decisions to ensure efficient orchard management and achievement of business objectives.
