CZ PLUMBING LIMITED is a civil construction drainage contractor based in Auckland, delivering drainage, sewerage and stormwater works across residential, commercial and subdivision projects. We have permanent full-time positions available for Drainage, Sewerage and Stormwater Labourers. you will carry out routine tasks supporting the installation, maintenance and repair of drainage, sewerage and stormwater systems. Full training will be provided.

●        Pay rate: from $24-$25 per hour

●        Days required: 6 days/week

●        Hours per week: min 30, max 60 hours per week

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Load, unload and transport construction materials, tools and equipment around the worksite
  • Dig, excavate and shovel trenches and holes, and remove spoil from site using wheelbarrows or site plant
  • Assist the Drainlayer to cut, position, align, joint and lay drainage, sewerage and stormwater pipes, and connect pipework to existing mains
  • Assist with the installation of manholes, inspection chambers, sumps, gully traps and other stormwater structures
  • Backfill trenches and spread, level and compact soil, sand, gravel and hardfill; carry out site reinstatement and clean-up
  • Clean, rod and flush drains; carry out minor repairs to stormwater drains and channels
  • Inspect and check for cracks and leaks in sewerage and stormwater systems, and report faults
  • Set up and pack down temporary works such as barricades, signage and trench protection
  • Use basic hand and power tools, and small plant and machinery (e.g. plate compactor, water pump, cut-off saw, mini/midi excavator under 6 tonnes) on the worksite, once trained and assessed as competent by the employer
  • Assist plant operators with excavator works, including hand-signalling, trench access preparation and ground support during machine excavation
  • Follow simple site plans, levels and verbal instructions
  • Comply with all health and safety requirements, safe work practices and site rules, and wear required PPE
  • Maintain tools and equipment and report faults to the Site Supervisor
  • Carry out any other general labouring duties as reasonably directed
