Harpreet Singh, a courier operator is seeking reliable Courier Drivers to join its team in the Wellington region. The ideal candidates will be reliable, responsible, and committed to providing timely and efficient delivery services. The role involves travelling within the Wellington region, with the company covering the required fuel and travel costs.

Key duties:

  • Safely load, transport, and deliver goods to customers and businesses within the required timeframes.
  • Check delivery orders before and after each delivery to confirm all items are accounted for, charges are accurate, and customers are satisfied.
  • Assist with the safe loading and unloading of goods from delivery vehicles.
  • Provide professional customer service by responding to customer enquiries and addressing any delivery-related concerns or complaints.
  • Organise and plan daily delivery routes to ensure efficient and timely deliveries.
  • Maintain the delivery vehicle in a clean and roadworthy condition, including carrying out basic checks such as tyre pressure and fluid levels.
  • Comply with all applicable road safety and traffic requirements, including speed limits, parking restrictions, and regulations relating to the transportation of goods.
  • Perform any other relevant duties required to support the responsibilities and requirements of the role.

The candidate will be required to work at least 30 hours per week and be paid between $25 to $30 per hour.

Other important requirements:

  • Relevant experience is preferred and not mandatory.
  • Available to work Monday to Saturday and start work as early as 6:30 am.
  • Hold a valid and clean driver licence.
  • A Dangerous Goods Endorsement is highly preferred.
  • Able to successfully pass required drug and alcohol testing.
  • Able to successfully pass a Ministry of Justice (MOJ) criminal record check.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Self-motivated, reliable, and committed to performing the role effectively.
  • Physically capable of undertaking heavy lifting when required.
