About the Role

As a Clinical/Registered Psychologist, you will be a key member of the Kia Tū Ngāwari Maternal Infant Mental Health and Pregnancy & Parental Service, providing specialist assessment, treatment, consultation and psychological expertise to pregnant women, parents, caregivers, infants and their whānau.

This part-time position offers a unique opportunity to work within a specialist service focused on promoting positive mental health outcomes during pregnancy and the first year of an infants life. You will undertake comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments, deliver evidence-based psychological interventions, contribute to multidisciplinary care planning, and provide consultation to colleagues and partner agencies. Working closely with health, social and community services, you will help support healthy parent-infant relationships and improve outcomes for families across Te Tai Tokerau.

About the Team/Service/Location

Maternal Infant Mental Health and Pregnancy & Parental Services in a specialist service within Kia Tū Ngāwaris Community Mental Health and Addiction Services. Our multidisciplinary team is passionate about supporting mothers, infants and whānau experiencing mental health challenges during pregnancy and early parenthood, delivering evidence-based, developmentally informed and culturally responsive care.

About you

As a Clinical/Registered Psychologist, you will bring specialist psychological knowledge, a passion for maternal and infant mental health, and a commitment to working collaboratively with whānau and multidisciplinary teams.

• Registered with the New Zealand Psychologists Board and hold a Clinical Scope of Practice
• Experience in mental health practice with strong assessment, formulation and psychological intervention skills
• Knowledge of, and commitment to, Te Tiriti o Waitangi and culturally responsive practice, including working effectively with Māori and diverse communities
• Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams and develop strong networks with community agencies and partner services
• Excellent communication, relationship-building and organisational skills, with the ability to work independently and manage a varied caseload
