About the Role

As a Registered Health Clinician, you will provide high-quality assessment, intervention, treatment and care coordination to whaiora accessing the Community Mental Health and Addictions Service. Working within a multidisciplinary framework, you will support people experiencing mental health and addiction challenges to achieve meaningful outcomes, improve wellbeing, and strengthen connections with their whānau and community.

This is a rewarding opportunity to work across a diverse caseload, applying evidence-based practice and clinical reasoning to support recover-focused care. You will collaborate closely with colleagues, primary care providers, community agencies and whānau to ensure coordinated and person-centred support, while contributing to service improvement, quality initiatives and ongoing development within the team.

About the Team/Service/Location

The Community Mental Health and Addictions Service provides comprehensive assessment, treatment and support for adults experiencing mental health and addiction challenges across Te Tai Tokerau. Our multidisciplinary team includes nurses, social workers, occupational therapists, psychiatrists, psychologists and other specialist clinicians who work collaboratively to deliver recovery-focused, culturally responsive care.

About You

As a Registered Health Clinician, you will bring strong clinical skills, a commitment to recovery-focused practice, and a passion for supporting equitable health outcomes for people experiencing mental health and addiction challenges.

  • Registration and a current practising certificate with a relevant New Zealand professional board (such as nursing, occupational therapy, social work, psychology)
  • Experience in mental health and/or addictions assessment, intervention and care coordination within your professional scope of practice
  • Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams and build strong relationships with whaiora, whānau and community partners
  • Commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, health equity, culturally safe practice, and achieving positive outcomes for Māori
  • Strong communication, clinical reasoning, organisational and time-management skills
  • A current full New Zealand drivers licence
