Builder's Labourer / Construction Worker

• Minimum 30 hours per week guaranteed. 

Skills and Experience:

• 2 Year experience as general labour in the construction industry.
• Experience in construction, roofing, or general labouring work preferred.
• Ability to use basic hand and power tools safely.
• Basic understanding of construction methods and materials.
• Ability to read and interpret simple plans and instructions.
• Good physical fitness and ability to perform manual labour, including working at heights.
• Strong awareness of workplace health and safety practices. 
• Applicants must be physically fit and willing to learn.
• Applicants must pass pre-employment drug test and have no criminal record.
• Must have a driver license

Qualifications (Preffered but not Essential)

• Site Safe or equivalent health and safety certification.
• Relevant on-the-job training or industry experience. 

Position

The Builder’s Labourer / Construction Worker provides general labouring support across roofing, building, and construction projects. This role involves assisting with installation, maintenance, and repair work, handling materials, preparing worksites, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards in accordance with ANZSCO Unit Group 8211 requirements. 

Key Responsibilities:

1. Roofing & Construction Support

• Assist with the removal of existing roofing materials including sheets and associated components.
• Support installation of roofing systems including metal sheets, cladding, and waterproofing membranes.
• Assist in installing flashings, guttering, and downpipe systems to ensure weatherproofing.
• Load, unload, and transport construction materials, tools, and equipment.
• Prepare surfaces and assist tradespersons during construction and repair works. 

2. Building & Maintenance Works

• Carry out general labouring duties on construction sites, including minor building and repair tasks.
• Assist with identifying and repairing defects such as leaks and structural issues.
• Support framing adjustments and general structural work as directed.
• Follow plans, specifications, and instructions from supervisors or qualified tradespersons. 

3. Site Preparation & Housekeeping 

• Prepare and clean construction sites by removing debris and maintaining a safe working environment.
• Set up and dismantle temporary structures such as scaffolding (under supervision).
• Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition. 

4. Health & Safety Compliance

• Adhere to all workplace health and safety policies and procedures.
• Work safely at heights using appropriate safety systems and equipment.
• Use personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
• Report hazards, incidents, and near misses promptly. 

Other Duties:

• Assisting tradespersons with construction tasks
• Loading/unloading and transporting materials
• Preparing worksites and cleaning up
• Performing routine manual labour tasks
