We are a construction company in Auckland North Shore. We are now seeking a part-time(20-25 hrs per week) Bookkeeper. 

Key responsibilities

  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records and recording day-to-day  transactions.
  • Managing accounts payable and receivable, including preparing invoices, processing payments and monitoring outstanding accounts.
  • Performing regular bank and account reconciliations and investigating any discrepancies or incorrect transactions.
  • Maintaining and balancing accounts using accounting software and other financial systems.
  • Monitoring cash flow, incoming and outgoing payments, business expenditure and financial commitments.
  • Maintaining GST records, including calculating and recording GST paid and collected, and assisting with information required for tax and compliance purposes.
  • Preparing purchase orders, payment documentation and supporting financial records.
  • Liaising with customers, suppliers, management and external accountants regarding financial and accounting matters.
  • Ensuring all financial records, invoices, receipts and supporting documents are accurately maintained and properly filed.

To be successful in this role, you will bring

  • A relevant qualification in Accounting, Bookkeeping, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or a similar finance-related role would be great.
  • A good understanding of bookkeeping and basic accounting principles.
  • Practical experience with accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, invoicing and financial reporting.
  • Good knowledge of GST and general New Zealand business accounting requirements.
  • Experience using accounting software such as Xero, MYOB, or similar systems.
  • Good Microsoft Excel and general computer skills.
  • Strong numerical skills with excellent accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Good organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively as part of a team.
